From Megan Romer, your About Books & Literature Editor
I've been informed that we're in the throes of baseball season. I admit that I don't know much about the sport, but I do love hot dogs and beer with a fiery passion, so the ball park is as good a place as any to spend a sunny day, as far as I'm concerned.

Book Review: 'Baseball: A Literary Anthology'

10 Classic Nonfiction Books About Baseball
And while we're at it, it's not all fiction and poetry. American baseball has given nonfiction writers plenty of you-couldn't-make-this-stuff-up kinds of moments over the years, and some fantastic books, including Moneyball and the The Boys of Summer, two of the best nonfiction books I've ever read on any topic.

Books About Girls Playing Baseball
All right, I admit it. Everything I know about baseball, I learned from the movie A League of Their Own, in which Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell and Geena Davis played athletes from the All-American Girls' Professional League, which is featured in several of the books on this list, a collection of stories that will certainly inspire the younger set (both boys and girls).
