From Megan Romer, your About Books & Literature Editor
Everyone is celebrating National Poetry Month all through April, but this week is especially tailored to Young People. Notice they didn't call it "Children's Poetry Week." Nope, it's for Young People, which presumably includes both children and those who act like children.

Children's Books of Poems for Two or More Voices
Poems for two or more voices are such great fun to read. It's like being in a band, except the only required talent is an ability to read with oomph.

'Good Sports' by Jack Prelutsky
I don't know much about kids, but I do know this: they all love Jack Prelutsky's poems. As far as I can tell, Prelutsky is some sort of a wizard, as he's enchanted every youth he's come across, and most of their parents and teachers, with his witty and occasionally outlandish verse. This book is full of sports-themed poems, perfect for athletic-minded poetry-resistors of all ages.

New in Paperback: 'Ape House' by Sara Gruen
Oh, so you're not childish, you say? And you hate poetry? Fine, Grumpelstiltskin, here's some big-people reading for you. Sara Gruen's Water For Elephants is about to hit the big screen starring Edward -- er -- Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon. Her sophomore release, Ape House, was not quite as well-received. Now that it's in paperback, you can afford to read it for yourself and see why.

Quotes from 'Atlas Shrugged'
Sara Gruen still too childish for you? All right, here's some really grown-up food for thought: Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged is also about to be released as a feature film. Why? Pshhht -- don't look at me. I'm busy reading Jack Prelutsky and being nice to my neighbors, thank you very much. Seriously, though, having been in development since the '70s (not kidding), it should make a pretty big splash. If you, like me, aren't quite up for re-reading the entire behemoth of a novel, these quotes should catch you up.
