January is named for Janus, the two-faced Roman God who simultaneously saw the past and the future. In that spirit, here's a literary salute to the year we finished and a great big howdy to the one that we're starting.

People's Choice: Best of 2010
These books made big impacts in 2010, clinging to the top spots on bestsellers lists all over. They were the ones discussed in book clubs and at water coolers, and which will all undoubtedly be seen in movie form within another couple of years (if they're not already...).

New Years' Resolutions for the Comics Fan
I am a terribly lazy New Years' resolution-maker (I haven't even made mine yet), but I can always get behind resolutions that add fun to my life, unlike, say, that pesky exercise resolution that I already broke.

And here are some new releases for this month, which include a set of unpublished short stories from Kurt Vonnegut. Excuse me, I have to go jump up and down and scream with joy now.
